Welcome to Sola Gratia, a nonprofit, ecumenical women’s choir inspired by the Latin phrase meaning “by grace alone.” More than 40 members strong and growing every day, we are a diverse group united by one mission: to spread a message of love and grace through the universal language of music. Together, we strive for excellence as we lift up our voices for events throughout the northeast Houston area and in concerts supporting worthy local ministries and community organizations.
Since our inception in 1990 as a small worship choir for Kingwood United Methodist Church, Sola Gratia has grown to include women of all ages, denominations, and musical backgrounds. Led by our founding director, Meredith Koerner, and accompanied by Lone Star College faculty member and international concert pianist Sergei Kuznetsov, we have performed twice at the White House in Washington, D.C., as well as at the Texas Capitol rotunda in Austin, and at the 2013 Texas Annual Conference of the Methodist Church.
Beneficiaries of our fundraising concerts include the Oaks of Righteousness, a faith-based residential program for female ex-offenders desiring to become productive members of society, and J’s House, a local nonprofit opening in 2025 to provide transitional housing and therapeutic treatment for children in foster care.
